1. Who these terms are with. These terms are between you and THE SNUG CLUB LTD (“we”, “us”), company number 17419416, registered office 1 Deodar Road, Putney, London SW15 2NP. By creating an account or using The Snug, you agree to them.

2. What The Snug is. The Snug is a directory and community for pubs, live music, quiz nights and vinyl nights, plus a marketplace for buying and selling records and a way for unsigned bands to be discovered. Some features carry a fee — see our current pricing on the site — the rest is free.

3. Who can use it. You must be at least 18 to create an account, given the pub- and licensed-venue context of the service. We ask your date of birth when you join and we do not verify it; giving us a false one is a breach of these terms. Don't post content that isn't yours to give — see “Content you post” below.

4. Your account. Keep your password secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens through it. Tell us straight away (info@thesnug-club.co.uk) if you think someone else has access.

5. Memberships, and what you pay. Member is £2.50 a month, billed monthly in advance. Musician is £30 a year or £3.50 a month, whichever you pick at sign-up. Founder is £25 a year, billed yearly. A Member can add the Musician side for £1 a month on top of their existing subscription, which comes to the same £3.50; a Founder can add it for £5 a year, which comes to the same £30. Every band gets its first six months free — this is not a limited number of places and does not run out. The founding offer for members is a free run for the first 100, applied automatically when you join if places remain. Prices are shown before you pay and may change; we will tell you before a change affects a plan you are already on.

6. Renewals, cancelling, and getting your money back. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your Club page, in one click, without telling us why. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep everything you have already paid for until the end of that period — we do not cut you off early and we do not charge a fee for leaving. If a free period applies, you will see before you confirm how long it lasts, what you will then be charged and when; nothing is charged until it ends; and we will email you at least seven days before the first payment, with a link to cancel. Separately from all of that, you have 14 days from the day you first subscribe to change your mind and get a full refund, even if you have used the site in the meantime. If we ever charge you in error, tell us and we will put it right.

7. The joining pint. Paying members get one joining pint, once, for as long as they are a member — not one a year, and not one per pub. It becomes redeemable three full months after your first payment, or on day one if you join as a Founder, and a founding free period pushes that date back by the length of the free period. You choose which pub to spend it at, from the pubs signed up to The Snug Club, when you come to spend it. The pub decides which drink the voucher covers. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged, transferred or sold, and lapses if your membership ends before you spend it. One per person: we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email and date of birth so that closing an account and opening another does not produce a second pint.

8. Content you post. When you post something — a review, a band page, a marketplace listing, a record backstory, a photo, an audio clip — you're confirming it's genuinely yours to post and that it's accurate. You keep ownership of it; you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it and display it on The Snug and in material promoting The Snug, for as long as you choose to keep it here. You can take it down, and we will stop using it. Don't post anything illegal, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.

9. If you are a band or a musician. You are telling us you have the right to everything you upload: the recordings, the artwork, the photographs and the name. If any of it is co-owned — a bandmate, a label, a producer, a photographer — you are confirming they are content for it to be here. We do not take a cut of anything you sell through The Snug. We do not claim any interest in your music beyond showing it on the site. If somebody tells us a track is not yours to post, we will take it down and ask you about it, in that order, because that is the only order that is fair to the person who wrote it.

10. If you are a pub. You are confirming you run the pub or are authorised to act for it. You are responsible for keeping your own listing honest — opening times, prices, what is on. If you accept The Snug Club as a venue where a joining pint can be redeemed, you agree to honour a valid voucher once, choose which drink it covers and tell us what that is, and we will pay you £5 for it. That £5 is yours whether the member stays for another or leaves; nothing comes out of your till and there is nothing to claim back. If you hold merchandise parcels for collection, we pay you 50p for each parcel you hold, whether or not it is collected. Paid by bank transfer on the first of the month. A balance under £5 rolls over to the next month. Your pub admin shows what you are owed. Either of us can end a pub listing at any time with reasonable notice, and anything you are owed at that point is still paid.

11. The rooms: what is not allowed. The forums are for members. Beyond clause 8, do not post anything that is illegal, that harasses or threatens somebody, that is designed to defraud, or that is a child in any sexual context whatsoever. Do not post somebody else's personal details. Do not use the rooms to sell anything outside Buy, Swap, Sell. We hold a new member's first few threads for a person to read before they appear — a post that is held is not a post that has been deleted, and its author can always still see it. What we check, and when, is set out in our moderation policy at thesnug-club.co.uk/moderation, which describes the checks that are actually running.

12. Complaints, and appealing a decision. Every thread and reply has a Report control, and it needs no account. If we hold or remove something of yours, or you think we have got a report wrong, email info@thesnug-club.co.uk with the link — a person reads it, we aim to answer within five working days, and we will tell you the outcome and the reason. If you are still unhappy, say so in reply and it gets looked at again by the same person with fresh eyes, which is the honest description of a company this size rather than a pretence of an appeals panel. Our full moderation policy, including who is accountable for it, is at thesnug-club.co.uk/moderation.

13. Buying things from the shop. Merchandise is sold by us. Prices include VAT where it applies, and postage is shown before you pay. You have 14 days from the day it arrives to change your mind and send it back for a refund, and longer if it is faulty — nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where an order is sent to a pub for collection, the pub holds it for 28 days from the day it arrives, and will release it to anyone presenting the collection code. When you choose pub collection you tell us what should happen if it has not been collected by then: either it is given to the pub, or it is returned to us and posted on to you at your cost. We will remind you three times before that day, and you may change your instruction at any point up to it.

14. Trade days and Buy, Swap, Sell. When you buy, sell or swap at a trade day, or through a Buy, Swap, Sell listing, the deal is between you and the other person. Neither The Snug nor the pub hosting the trade day is a party to it, takes a commission on it, or holds any money for it. Payment passes directly between buyer and seller — cash, or the seller's own card reader or payment link; a pub's tills and card machines are for the pub's own sales. Sellers are responsible for describing what they sell honestly, and buyers should check it before paying. If a seller is in business selling records, the law gives buyers more protection than a private sale does, and a seller in that position must say so. A pub can charge for a table if it chooses; that is between the seller and the pub.

15. Music ratings and Unknown Vinyl results. Ratings and vinyl-night results reflect what the room decided on the night. We don't verify or referee them beyond the rules published on the site — we gatekeep records, not people.

16. Donations to pubs. Giving money to a pub through this site isn't live yet. Once it is: any donation you make goes to the pub, less any platform fee we've clearly disclosed to you at the time, and is not refundable except where the law requires it or the pub agrees.

17. The charity share. We set aside a share of what we take for a registered charity supporting grassroots music venues — the proportion is stated beside each product and plan on the site. It comes out of merchandise sales and Founder memberships, and it is our money we are giving away, not an extra charge added to yours. We will name the charity here once there is a written agreement in place with them, and not before.

18. Your data. What we collect and why is in the privacy notice. In short: we keep what an account needs to work, we do not sell anything to anybody, and marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works. Card numbers never reach us — payments are handled by Stripe, and we store only the identifiers they give us.

19. Our intellectual property. “The Snug”, “The Snug Club” and our logo belong to us. “THE SNUG CLUB” is the subject of a pending UK trade mark application (no. UK00004435888) — not yet registered. Please don't use our name or branding in a way that implies our endorsement without asking first.

20. Liability. We do our best to keep The Snug accurate and running, but pub details, event times and music ratings ultimately come from pubs, bands and members, not us — check with the venue before you travel. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

21. Ending your account. You can close your account at any time by emailing info@thesnug-club.co.uk. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, giving notice where we reasonably can, and the complaints route in clause 12 applies to that decision.

22. Changes to these terms. We'll post updates here and change the “last updated” date above. If a change is material — anything affecting what you pay, what you get, or your rights — we will tell you before it takes effect and you will be asked to agree to the new version.

23. Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

24. Contact. Email: info@thesnug-club.co.uk. Post: THE SNUG CLUB LTD, 1 Deodar Road, Putney, London SW15 2NP.
